Martin Counties best restaurants participated in raising money for this years event, along with multiple wine vendors, live music, and pirates! Yes, you heard us right, PIRATES! It was so much fun, and we thank everyone who was able to come out and support this great cause.

We decided to follow the theme and create a caribbean mosaic with our mini-cupcakes, and it was a big hit!

Our version of a brandy cake starts with a simple chocolate cake batter; then we add maraschino cherry juice, cherry brandy, and chopped walnuts for texture. We encrust the top of each cake with additional walnuts which will ensure a beautiful presentation every time. While the cake is baking, we prepare our signature cherry brandy sauce that we will soak into the cake at least three times after the baking process has finished. With our Petite, Medium, and Grande sized cakes, we also include 4 ounces of our special cherry brandy icing; This will allow the consumer to control the level of sweetness as they can drizzle as little, or as much as they like once the cake is ready to be eaten.

We like to think that it is the level of “a mother’s love” that makes this cake so good, but the special sauces that we make can’t hurt either.

For Memorial Day 2010, we are featuring our Exotic Walnut Rum Cake.

Whether you are local and want to pick up at our shop or you are too far away and need the cake shipped, our cakes are all packaged the same with a beautiful bow, a name tag describing the cake, and gorgeous wrapping. Our ‘Grande’ size cake is perfect for 10-12 people, and we are pretty sure that you won’t be bringing any home after the party.

We started with two layers of our Chocolate Cherry Brandy cake filled and covered with a succulent butter-cream style frosting.

Next, we layered black fondant, and created the worn leather look that was requested (and it’s not as easy as we once thought).

After the cake part was completed, we began accessorizing. We created a leather braid look that surrounded the bottom of the cake. Next, the “paved road” was created, as the client wanted to place a replica of their Harley on the road upon completion. We created roses from white fondant and painted them to add color. Additionally, we created a logo that would later be placed on the front side of the cake.

After assembling all of those pieces, the cake was still missing something. We decided to add silver studs around the top of the cake with flying hearts to set it off.

The final product was amazing (however we are still awaiting on those pictures). After the cake topper and motorcycle were placed, it made the perfect centerpiece for a Saturday celebration of marriage.
