Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and people around the globe are showing thier support for the survivors, the victims, and the many families that have been affected by this disease. We are no exception and have been attending local events to show our support. Not only have we had a blast, it is all for a great cause.

Last year “an estimated 192,370 women in the United States were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and about 40,610 women were expected to die from the disease.” -says the American Cancer Society.

Breast Cancer Ribbon made out of Cupcakes!

The mosaic that we designed started out much thicker, but at the point that this picture was taken, more than half of it had been eaten…which was a good thing! We were lucky enough to be invited to the “Tickled Pink” event which was held at The Women’s Center of Martin County as an opportunity to create awareness of the disease, while the real stars of this show were all of the survivors who attended.  There were many sponsors and the entire event went off without a hitch (which rarely happens in today’s world)

Victoria Secret gift bags were handed to survivors which were filled with donated goodies.  Silver Platter Entrees catered the event with a delicious spread of gourmet foods, an open bar outside serving pink “Survivortinis” which were garnished with a pink feather;  They were the cutest little cocktails that I had ever seen! For desert, attendees had thier choice of our Chocolate Cherry Brandy or our Amaretto Almond cupcakes which was paired with an amazing gourmet coffee!

Overall, this event was a huge success for all who participated, and I believe that the survivors who were there thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
